SSG Landers’ Choi Ji-hoon was ejected for expressing dissatisfaction with a call.
Choi Ji-hoon started in center 메이저사이트 field and right field for SSG’s home game against the LG Twins in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on April 19, but was ejected after his team’s sixth inning at-bat.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, with SSG down 2-5 and the bases loaded, Choi stepped up to bat for the third time and faced LG’s Yoo Young-chan. He saw strikes one, two, and three on pitches, and tried to turn his bat on a four-pitch forkball.
However, the third base umpire ruled it a checked swing. After striking out, Choi didn’t pick up his bat and headed for the dugout. There was no further contact with the umpire, but umpire Kim Jun-hee called Choi out. It was his 23rd ejection of the season and 13th as a player.
When Choi Ji-hoon was sent off, head coach Kim Won-hyung jumped up and protested. With Choi Ji-hoon out of the lineup, SSG moved Ha Jae-hoon to left field and Han Yoo-seom, who started in left field, to right field.
