Kim Eui-yeon, Han Jung-mi, and Chae Won are scared of the race…but if they run, they’re undefeated.

Kim Eui-yeon (29, Pocheon City Office) and Chae Ji-won (21, Gyungsan City Office), who represent the men’s and women’s middle and long distances in Korean track and field, have remained undefeated this season.

Kim was the first to cross the finish line in the men’s 400-meter final at the 77th National Track and Field Championships on Thursday afternoon at Jeongseon Stadium in Gangwon Province, clocking 47.15 seconds to win the event.

It was the latest in a string of dominant races for Kim, who has won all four of his official meets this season.

“I will compete in the Hangzhou Asian Games and set a Korean record (45.37),” Kim vowed.

Han Han-mi (27-Gwangju Metropolitan Government), who competed in the women’s 400 meters, also claimed her third podium finish of the season. She clocked 55.95 in the afternoon final.

She previously won the KBS Boat and National Unemployed Athletics (2nd) Championships in May. This is her best pace since setting a personal best (PB) of 55.93 at the National Games in October 2018.

Chajiwon’s race was just as scary. She competed in the women’s 800 meters and finished first in 2:11.53.

Early on, she was recognized as a female middle-distance prospect, but in her fourth year of practical training, she has taken the world by storm.
