LG exploded for a 꽁머니지급 seven-run second inning against Doosan at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on April 18.
Leading 2-1 in the bottom of the inning, after leadoff hitter Moon Bo-kyung struck out swinging, Lee Jae-won hit a double over the left-field fence. Kim Min-seong followed with an RBI single to left. It made it 3-1.
Hong Chang-ki doubled to left-center field to put runners on second and third. Park Hae-min flied out to right-center field. Hong misjudged the drop and couldn’t catch it. The error was not recorded. The runner at third scored, leaving runners at first and third.
Kim Hyun-soo hit a double to right-center field, driving in both runners. With LG leading 6-1, the Doosan bench pulled starter Jang Won-jun and replaced him with Lee Hyung-beom in relief.
LG’s bats were still hot. Austin hit a line drive to center field, and center fielder Jung Soo-bin rushed forward to make a diving catch, but he was far from the ball. He couldn’t even touch the ball with his glove and it fell backwards.
Austin raced home, rounding first, second, and third. Safe. It was an inside-the-park home run. It was Austin’s second home run of the season and his first groundball in the KBO. It is the 92nd in KBO history.
In the Samsung-KT game on April 16, Samsung’s Kim Young-woong hit an inside-the-park home run (ground ball) off the right-center field fence with runners 토토체험머니 on first and second in the second inning. Right fielder Kim Min-hyuk hit the fence and went down with an injury, allowing Kim to come home.
Oh Ji-hwan followed with a double to left-center, and Park Dong-won followed with a single to left. Moon Bo-kyung, the leadoff hitter, grounded out to the second baseman for the second out. Eight consecutive batters reached base, scoring seven runs.
